I've read and followed virtually every suggestion with no resolution What I need here is a legitimate fix for the install problem I have Come Microsoft, support this, you've got my money now I'd like to have the use of the program that I'm struggling to install XP OS.

Just wanted to inform that corefonts are not getting installed therefore not letting the installer complete. The installation of corefonts gets stuck on Downloading: andale I have tried to cancel the installation at that point, install corefonts with winetricks pointing at the wineprefix which appeared to work , but still - installer would get stuck at the same point. Actually, I'm not even sure if it's the scripts' fault, because creating a new bottle through playonlinux and trying to install corefonts on it results in the same problem.
Hello, I want to give feedback that the installation of Office was not working. Obviously the wine directory is not found due to the double slash in the directory paths see logfile below.
Is there a workaround? MS Office runs well on my Kubuntu However, I in the past few years I did not have to fiddle around with "riched20" in Wine configurations after installation.

Does someone know a solution? I notices someone had the same problem in but it doesn't have any responses. The Apps work perfect, only if I try to open any office file with right klick "open with", office does not start and wine crashes with a message it has to refresh something. I think it is because the "open with" funktion uses the comands of the menu entries. Everything works fine.
POL seems to work straight. Wine-mono and Wine-gecko packages have been installed casually while I was trying to install Office the first time. Doing the installation with the file itself doesn't work because the setup. But the extracted files also don't work. Updated to POL4. However, I notice an issue with dual screen. I use a laptop and an external screen with different resolution. When I maximize the window in the external screen, the window don't use the full screen I have an empty band on the top.

I could configure the client not to scan that drive or folder , but then I'd leave myself with a security hole. So that brings my question on this. Is it good, being that this is an emulated Windows environment, to have some form of Windows security installed in the WINE folder, to cover all of it's software. My thinking is that it would be good to do, as Linux security solutions are well known to knock a Windows install in the dirt, and have learned that via the School of Hard Knocks, not something that was read on the Internet.
While I'll agree that this is very doable the Office install , it doesn't come risk free, and only those who really needs MS Office should do this. Only those whom needs a couple of features needs to bother, or those who has employment or educational needs that mandates MS Office.

It would mean for those who uses the Outlook package for email, to be on the lookout for attachments that may be loaded with malware, as it could infect the whole WINE folder if one were opened.
